Position: Registered Nurse Weekender (RN) - Medical ICU

Position Overview

Department: Carolinas Medical Center – Nursing: 10L Medical ICU

Status: Part‑time

Hours: 24 hours per week

Pay Range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour (7P‑7A Saturday/Sunday rates)

Sign‑on Bonus: Available for applicants without a recent sign‑on bonus within the past 24 months

Location

The Medical ICU (MICU) at Carolinas Medical Center is a 29‑bed unit that cares for a diverse, high‑acuity patient population, including ARDS, septic shock, liver failure, multi‑organ failure, respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, complex oncology needs, renal failure, sickle cell crises, diabetic keto acidosis, and post‑cardiac arrest care. The unit supports advanced critical care practice, including intubations, bedside procedures, vasoactive drip titration, comfort‑focused care, procedure coordination, and life‑support therapies such as ECMO.

You’ll Do

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, deliver evidence‑based practice, and lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
  • At least 6 months of RN experience (not for new graduates)
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire
  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred
