Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery Nocturnist - NP​/PA

Job Summary

Advocate Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Charlotte, is currently seeking a Full‑Time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join an established practice in Charlotte, NC.

• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision‑making skills. Strong communication skills a must. Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient management and coordination of patient care.
• Shift: Nocturnist – 12‑hour shifts, proposed 7 days on/7 days off (can be flexible), position is for night shift, 84 hours per pay period.
• Weekends, holidays required. No call. Travel to other sites may be required.
• No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible.
• Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program and maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS certified.
• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required.
• Nurse Practitioners:
  Acute Care NP certification required.
• Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred.

$59.00 - $88.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
