The School of Nursing in the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University has developed a research‑intensive, teaching/learning environment for students and faculty. The faculty are highly qualified, nationally known, and bring a range of experiences in nursing practice, research, and education. The ultimate goal is to advance the School of Nursing’s position to one of the nation’s top research schools of nursing.

The programs offered span from bachelor’s through DNP and PhD, responding to healthcare needs locally, nationally, and globally. The School is committed to co‑creating an environment that incubates innovative ideas aimed at creating a dignified, patient‑family‑centered healthcare system.

This full‑time (52‑week) Open Rank Non‑Tenure Track Faculty position begins July 2026 and will support the hybrid Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role requires regular on‑campus presence to support program operations, student learning, and collaboration with nursing faculty.

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in scholarship, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. Qualified candidates must have expertise in working with global student populations and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.

• Possess a terminal degree in Nursing or a related field, or matriculate into a terminal degree program before or immediately following appointment.
• Evidence of an established area of research and scholarship, teaching excellence, and a commitment to supporting faculty, staff, and student environments.
• Hold an active, unencumbered license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina by appointment start date.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing education, employing evidence‑based, student‑centered pedagogical strategies that promote clinical judgment, critical thinking, and NCLEX success.
• Satisfy the North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements to teach in a pre‑licensure nursing program.
• Current or recent clinical expertise in psychiatric‑mental health nursing, with the ability to deliver engaging, evidence‑based instruction across didactic and simulated learning environments.
• Experience with online instruction preferred, including proficiency in learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and the ability to facilitate engaging, high‑quality virtual learning experiences.

Clinical and/or teaching experience in mental health nursing. Interdisciplinary expertise capable of leading and collaborating with researchers at Bouve and across Northeastern University.

Assistant Clinical Professor: $84,000.00 – $ | Associate Clinical Professor: $92,000.00 – $ | Clinical Professor: $ – $.
