Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

The Labor & Delivery Unit is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced and high-acuity team. The unit handles over 300 births per month and is known for its challenging environment. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage double labor assignments regularly.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care.
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and manage immediate newborn care.
• Utilize skills in circulating for Cesarean births and handle high-volume patient admissions.
• Maintain oversight of patient care in a unit averaging 20 births in 24 hours and 40 daily visits.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery; 3 years preferred.
• Experience in high-volume settings (>300 births/month) is required.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP. C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN certification.
• Must be competent in circulating for C-sections and managing high-risk obstetrical patients.
