- Trach care - PIV starts
- Chest tube management - NGT placement
- Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc.) - PCA pump management
- Medication gtt management, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
Description:
We are seeking an experienced RN with a strong background in Med Surg/Telemetry. This position involves caring for patients with various diagnoses, including end-stage renal disease, fluid overload, sickle cell disease, diabetes mellitus, altered mental status, cellulitis, diabetic ulcers, pancreatitis, and behavioral health issues. Patient ratios will be RN: 1:5-6, with critical surge ratios of 1:7-8. CNA support will be provided with ratios of 1:6-12.
The role includes responsibilities such as telemetry monitoring and interaction with phlebotomy teams. Staffing will include resource nurses when available. The facility uses an EMR system and various medical technologies, including IV pumps and medication dispensing systems. Traveling nurses may float to various units and facilities within the region if needed. Weekend rotations and holiday expectations will be part of the scheduling.
The successful candidate will be prepared to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
