Position SummaryThe primary role of this position is to assess, monitor, and treat psychiatric conditions and to provide Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals with substance use disorders. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) serves adolescent clients ages 5 and older and adult clients across Anuvia's outpatient programs, delivering integrated care that considers physical health, mental health, and substance use recovery together.

Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis- Diagnose, conduct, and prescribe medications for clients presenting with psychiatric mental health and/or substance use disorder conditions (or those likely to have them).
- Assess adolescent clients ages 5+ and adult clients, developing treatment plans that fit each person's developmental stage and clinical need.
- Perform client histories and physicals, risk‑factor assessments, and order therapeutic and diagnostic tests.
- Obtain medical history and perform physical examinations to establish a baseline regarding health status and progress of consumers.
- Provide emergency psychiatric services, including physical and psychosocial examinations.
- Prescribe necessary medications, treatments, and diagnostic tests in accordance with Anuvia policy, formulary, and relevant regulations of the State.
- Deliver Medication‑Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, including buprenorphine/Suboxone, naltrexone/Vivitrol, and (where applicable) methadone.
- Manage and ensure all medication and pharmacotherapy work is compliant with NC Medical Board rules and regulations, service definitions, and DEA requirements.
- Provide on‑call services as needed.
- Provide integrated care that considers physical health, mental health, and substance use recovery together.
- Consult with physicians on cases beyond the scope of qualification of a PMHNP.
- Collaborate with therapists and counselors to ensure a comprehensive, holistic treatment approach.
- Ensure smooth communication with other health professionals for effective clinical service delivery.
- Provide consultation to the clinic's nursing and medical staff to enhance overall quality service delivery.
- Document services in the client record; put all relevant client data in medical records.
- Review and sign service plans and person‑centered plans for medical necessity.
- Develop appropriate treatment plans and provide effective management of client care with proper evaluation.
- Formulate, execute, and review healthcare education delivered to clients and families.
