The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in an obstetric setting, including assessment of maternal and fetal health, administration of treatments, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and management of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of labor and delivery nursing

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
• STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA / ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses as required for this position
