Medical Surgical with Telemetry registered nurse position in Charlotte, North Carolina. This assignment involves providing care to adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, Chest Pain, Stroke symptoms, and respiratory issues. The role offers night shifts with a schedule cycle of every 6 weeks, supporting all inpatient units and the emergency department within a regional healthcare facility.
Job Details- Schedule:
Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week - Required Qualifications:
1. RN license with Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
2. Education and certification: RN license with at least 18 months of Medical Surgical and Telemetry experience. 3.
Location:
Must be willing to work in Charlotte, North Carolina. 4.
Experience:
18 months minimum experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing. - Preferred Qualifications:
Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley management), PCA pumps, medication gtt management including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids. - Float:
Will be required to float within the regional scope of practice to facilities in designated regions as needed, with compensation for travel time if floating mid-shift. - Additional Information:
- The unit supports a variety of patient types, including overflow for all inpatient units and emergency department holding.
- Nurse to patient ratios are approximately 1:5-6, critical surge ratios 1:7-8.
- Support staff includes CNAs, receptionists/HUCs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7 as described.
- Equipment use includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
- Orientation includes a 2-day departmental onboarding.
- Uniform color is Navy.
