Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as the primary psychiatric provider for our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). In this high-autonomy role, you will drive daily clinical care—leading psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning—while working under a structured collaborative agreement with our off-site Medical Director.

Core Responsibilities

  • Psychiatric Evaluations & Admissions: Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations and level-of-care assessments for incoming PHP and IOP clients.
  • Medication Management: Oversee routine medication management, prescription renewals, and protocol adjustments for mental health and substance use disorders (including MAT where applicable).
  • Treatment Team Leadership: Lead the psychiatric component of weekly interdisciplinary treatment team meetings alongside therapists, case managers, and the Clinical Director.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain timely, compliant EHR documentation detailing medical necessity, treatment plans, and progress notes to satisfy state licensing, payer, and accreditation standards.
  • Patient & Crisis Management: Address acute psychiatric stabilization, routine clinical escalations, and discharge planning.

    Collaboration:

    Meet regularly with the Medical Director for required supervisory check-ins, chart reviews, and collaborative agreement updates.

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted PMHNP-BC license (Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing) in North Carolina.
  • Active federal DEA registration (Schedules II–V) and state controlled-substance license.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric care, behavioral health, or addiction treatment (PHP/IOP experience preferred).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and comfort operating as the primary on-site psychiatric provider.
