Role Overview :
A Med Surg travel nurse provides comprehensive care to patients with medical-surgical conditions, managing admissions, discharges, and safe care transitions. This role involves administering medications, IV therapy, performing assessments, and monitoring patient status, with a focus on acute and chronic cases, including postoperative care when assigned.
Responsibilities:Prioritize patient care across a varied caseload, perform thorough assessments, escalate concerns promptly, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Qualifications and Skills:Candidates must have at least 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience and hold an active North Carolina RN license. Strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high-volume caseload are essential.
Key Duties:Administer treatments, monitor patient changes, educate patients and families, and ensure safe and effective care delivery within a fast-paced environment.
