Nurse Navigator - Neurosurgery

We are seeking a
dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Neurosurgery (Spine) inpatient team. Ideal nursing candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence, nursing excellence, and adaptability.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Current BLS certification, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred
• Prior inpatient Neurosurgery experience preferred

• Monday – Friday 7:00a – 3:30p
• Carolinas Medical Center - Main, 9 Tower

• Coordinate withmultiplephysician teamsregardingthe careplanfor each spine patient daily
• In conjunction with providers, participate in multidisciplinary rounds on 9T tooptimizeteammatecommunicationfor our neurosurgical patients
• Facilitate communication with physician teamsregardingpatient or nursing questions/concerns
• Communicate with family members to ensure adequate understanding ofpatient’scare during hospitalcourse
• Coordinate with social workers/case managers toassistwith appropriate patient disposition
• Assist with scheduling of post op follow ups, woundchecksand outpatient imaging

Working knowledge of the components of quality and acute patient care needs.

Maintains clinical expertise to effectively manage physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs of patients throughout the care continuum.

Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills necessary to negotiate with families, patient, physicians, and third-party payers.

Demonstrated ability to work well with physicians and other professionals in a direct and positive manner.
