American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS and 2+ years of ED experience.
Details- Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center
- Adult patient population including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases
- Approximately 170 visits per day across 53 rooms/beds
- Non-critical patient ratio of 3:1 (4:1 with hallway beds during callouts), critical patients 2:1, medical boarders 5:1
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirement
- No floating required
- Uses PYXIS, Epic, and SBAR systems
- Active NC or Compact RN license
- Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS, MOAB, and BLS
- ENPC and PALS certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant ED experience required
- Required skills:
IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation - Trauma experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with respiratory and ventilated patient care preferred
- Experience with neurological and CVA patient care preferred
- Provide emergency care to adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and trauma cases
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Orientation is 36 or 48 hours, conducted weekly
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO permitted during first week of assignment
- No additional RTO may be requested after signing the contract
- Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying, with prior employment disclosed at submission
