The unit provides care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions who require brief hospitalization, clinical monitoring, stabilization, or transition to another level of care. ADTU plays a critical role in decompressing the emergency department and inpatient units by facilitating timely patient movement across the continuum of care.

Staffed by experienced nurses and interdisciplinary team members, the unit emphasizes rapid assessment, safe stabilization, patient education, and coordinated discharge planning to promote quality outcomes and patient safety.
