American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a 12-hour day shift contract requiring 2+ years of CVOR experience and BLS certification.
Requirements- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Strong CVOR skills required with ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Experience with Adult Cardiac cases required;
Pediatric Cardiac experience preferred - Vascular and Thoracic surgery experience required;
Robotic surgery experience preferred - Hybrid OR experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Minimum 12 months of core CVOR experience within the last year required
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with Magnet designation, Level 1 Pediatric Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
- 7 ORs dedicated to Adult and Pediatric Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgery
- Department supports Cath Lab and EP Lab
- Patient population includes Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgical cases
- 12-hour day shift schedule from , 36 hours per week
- Schedule cycle runs on a 6-week rotation
- Weekend work only required if on-call and the scheduled person calls out
- On-call required approximately once per week and 2 weekends within the 6-week schedule, with 1-hour call back time and a sleep room available
- Possible floating to Pineville CVOR, though unlikely
- EMR used is Epic
- IV Pump:
Alaris;
Medication dispensing:
Omnicell - Provide perioperative nursing care for Adult and Pediatric Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgical procedures
- Work alongside a Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Assistants, Anesthesia/CRNA team, and experienced peer support
- Facility-specific orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation, with length depending on experience level
- Holiday coverage may be required if holidays fall within the contract period
- RTO requests subject to manager approval
- Personal scrubs worn to and from the hospital; hospital-issued scrubs worn in the OR
- Free parking available
- Positive unit culture reported
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
