Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 48-hour weekly contracts preferred. Every other weekend required. Contract length up to February 27, 2027. No call or float requirements.
Highlights:- High-volume Level 2 Trauma Center emergency department with approximately 170 visits per day across 53 beds
- Diverse patient population including adult STEMI, stroke, and trauma patients
- Patient ratios: 3:1 non-critical, 2:1 critical, 5:1 medical boarders
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
- 36-48 hours of paid orientation to support successful onboarding
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience
- Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and MOAB
- Required skills:
IV start, triage, telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and conscious sedation - Experience with blood product administration and care of ventilated patients
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- First-time travelers and local candidates welcome
- ENPC certification
- Previous trauma center experience
This emergency department position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where you'll care for a diverse patient population including stroke, cardiac, and trauma patients. With strong interdisciplinary support and comprehensive resources, you'll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering excellent emergency care. This temporary assignment provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy trauma center environment while maintaining work-life balance with every-other-weekend scheduling.
AdditionalInformation:
Pre-start online modules (approximately 8-10 hours) must be completed prior to orientation. Navy blue scrubs required. Interview required before offer extension. Time-off requests must be submitted and approved prior to contract signing, with up to 7 days available (excluding holidays). Clinicians must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays during the contract period.
