Job Opportunity – Pediatric Medical-Surgical & Hematology/Oncology Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Pediatric medical-surgical and hematology/oncology unit serving patients ages 0-17
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 across all shifts
- 13-week contract with self-scheduling flexibility
- No call requirement; float to PICU and NICU as needed
- Epic charting system with PYXIS and SBAR workflows
- 24 hours of unit orientation with comprehensive onboarding support
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Chemotherapy administration experience and certification strongly preferred
- IV start and lab draw skills preferred
- Active North Carolina or Compact state nursing license (pending acceptable for submission)
- Experience with care and management of ports, central lines, and peripheral lines
- First-time travelers welcome if they meet experience requirements
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
