Pay Range: $25.30 - $37.95
Essential Functions- Provides training and support for staff on the automation and processing areas.
- Develops, updates, and maintains standard operating procedures and quality control processes as needed.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the automation with the ability to recognize and correct issues with minimal support.
- Prepares reports to illustrate the performance of automation for specimen processing, including investigating error trends, new test code builds, test code updates, and tube labeling compliance.
- Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities to improve the efficiency of automation for processing areas.
- Acts as primary liaison with service technicians to limit impact and shorten downtime during automation servicing or repair.
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work areas, troubleshooting as needed.
- Follows all policies regarding performance of maintenance, function checks and quality control with proper documentation.
Works in an active environment interacting with physicians, patients, technologists, and other hospital teammates. Works in an area which contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Each teammate has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. May be required to stoop, reach and lift light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.
Education, Experience and CertificationsRegistered Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or a bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological or physical science required.
