• Meets with laboratory leadership and/or coursesponsorto understandneedsforeducation courses or research sessions.
  
  Ensures that instrumentation and consumables are ordered for the lab.
  
  Advises sponsors and leadershipaboutavailable materials and equipment.

• Supervises the preparation of laboratory environment for professional education courses as outlined by course coordinator and laboratory leadership. Coordinates on site with course coordinator to ensure the laboratory environment best suits their needs.
  
  Communicates any requested changes to leadership and other teammates.

• Conducts technical laboratory procedures and animalresearchanesthesia, surgery, and postoperative care toa high level.
  
  Assistsandinstructsother technicians with complex procedures.

• Monitorscareofresearch animalsassistswith surgical and technical procedures.
  
  Performs animal subject research following GLP practices.

• Assistsin organizing and coordinating the daily and weekly schedule of procedures to be performed.

• Monitors andmaintainslaboratory analytical equipment and supplies and takes appropriate action.
  
  Assistsintroubleshooting of equipment and software.

• Takes experimental and clinical observations.
  
  Performs quality control onresearchdata and facility records.

• Updates laboratory and surgical procedures as needed.
  
  Assistsin drafting, editing, and amending IACUC protocols.

• Assistsin instructing personnel in the proper use of laboratory equipment and procedures.

• Bachelor'sof Science Degreerequiredorits equivalent in experience.

• 5years of experience in veterinary medicine, research, medical education, or healthcare field required.

• Ability tolead teams in a veterinary, research, or health care setting. Demonstrated ability to manage complex anesthetic and surgical cases. Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.

• Work in fast paced office/laboratory environment. Requiresability to sit or stand forlong periodsof time.
  
  Ability to move and lift heavy objects.
  
  Each employee has the responsibility toworkin a safe manner.

• RVT/LVT, AALAS certification
