ISO Auditor

Location: Charlotte, NC (hybrid, 3 days on-site)

Day to day:

• Conduct comprehensive quality audits of citywide development policies, records, and process adherence
• Maintain and improve ISO 9001 quality standards across departments
• Collaborate with departments to drive corrective and preventive actions
• Support performance measurement and benchmarking initiatives
• Recommend quality improvements and process enhancements
• Participate in continuous improvement planning and city audit workshops
• Update and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Coach internal teams on quality compliance and auditing best practices
• Apply root cause analysis methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to recurring audit findings or compliance issues

Must haves:

• 5+ years in quality assurance and/or auditing roles
• Certified ISO 9001 Auditor (or equivalent ISO cert)
• Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and audit lifecycle
• Strong documentation and analytical reporting skills
• Effective communicator with cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to work in public sector or similarly regulated environments

Plusses:

• Prior experience working with municipal governments or transit authorities
• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 55001, or related standards
• Experience conducting or facilitating Kaizen/CI events
• Process mapping using Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS, or similar tools

Salary and Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is between $38 - $42 per hour
. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
