The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Quality Microbiology Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Durham, NC
. Details for the position are as follows:

Quality Technician
Pay: $25-23
Contract Duration: 1 year (with potential to extend)

Job Description
  • Perform quality control testing on components and finished products according to established laboratory procedures.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring of water, air, and surfaces to identify contamination risks.
  • Perform microbiological and analytical testing including TOC, Gram staining, growth promotion, particulate counts, bioburden, sterility, endotoxin, and cell-based assays
    .
  • Review test results and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Support sample tracking and distribution to ensure accurate documentation and timely testing.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory
    , including ordering and restocking supplies and reagents.
  • Enter test results and maintain documentation in laboratory data systems.
  • Support assay validations, equipment qualifications, and laboratory investigations
    .
  • Assist with SOP updates, process improvements, and training of new personnel
    .
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization, including autoclaving and glassware washing.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience performing quality control or microbiology laboratory testing in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring and sterility-related testing methods
    .
  • Familiarity with GMP laboratory procedures, investigations, and documentation
    .
  • Strong data entry, documentation, and record-keeping skills
    .
  • Ability to identify problems and support investigations or corrective actions
    .
  • Strong organizational and communication skills when working with cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications
  • HSD 3+ years of Quality Control / Associates Degree and 1-2 years of Quality Control or Bachelors and 6 months - 1 year of Quality Control experience.
  • Experience working in a quality control or regulated laboratory environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMP or pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and external laboratories.
