Role Overview

The Quality Associate is responsible for performing independent audits and inspections within Burst House testing operations for air-cooled products. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, testing procedures, and ISO 9001 requirements through verification of testing activities, documentation accuracy, traceability, and process adherence. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform independent audits and inspections of Burst House testing operations, including helium and pressure-based leak testing.
  • Verify proper execution of leak checks, burst tests, and post-test inspections in accordance with approved work instructions, control plans, and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct two-layer verification of critical quality checks by confirming operators performed required inspections and tests correctly and validating that test results, pass/fail dispositions, and rework actions are accurately documented.
  • Audit test area readiness, including equipment condition, calibration status, safety interlocks, fixtures, and compliance with standardized work practices.
  • Identify, document, and escalate nonconformances, process deviations, and quality escapes through the quality management system.
  • Verify traceability and data integrity, including unit identification, test parameters, test results, and re-test requirements.
  • Capture and upload traceability photos and audit evidence for audited units.
  • Monitor and verify containment activities related to leak failures, burst test failures, and supplier component issues impacting test performance.
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to communicate audit findings, support root cause investigations, and track the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
  • Report daily testing results, audit findings, quality trends, and nonconformance data.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Perform component and feature verification, including inspection of fittings, welds, joints, caps, and labels.
  • Complete additional duties and assignments as directed by Quality Management and Production Leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance, or inspection.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify defects, nonconformities, and process deviations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical or related field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, traceability, or manufacturing testing processes.
