  • Set up and operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer quality requirements.
  • Develop effective inspection strategies, setups, and measurement routines.
  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Investigate conflicting measurement results and determine the source of discrepancies.
  • Ensure inspection methods are accurate, repeatable, and properly documented.
  • Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate findings to production and leadership.
  • Help evaluate, select, install, and launch a new CMM system, with ZEISS currently preferred.
  • Establish CMM programming standards, calibration practices, and inspection procedures.
  • Recommend additional inspection equipment, software, tooling, and department improvements.
  • Work with machinists and shop leadership to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Train and mentor inspection personnel as the department develops.
  • Help build an inspection function capable of consistently meeting customer and internal quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a precision manufacturing or machine-shop environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and equipment.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience inspecting close-tolerance machined components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement inconsistencies and validate inspection results.
  • Experience developing inspection plans, programs, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the inspection department.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting the selection or implementation of new CMM equipment is highly desirable.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant CMM and inspection experience is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • ZEISS CMM equipment and programming software.
  • CMM installation, qualification, or commissioning.
  • Building or improving a quality inspection department.
