JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Quality provides overall leadership for the Quality function across United States and Mexico, with direct quality oversight for all manufacturing locations and functional quality leadership and guidance to distribution operations.

The Director establishes quality standards and priorities across the organization, develops and supports quality leaders, and drives continuous improvement with a focus on building a zero-defect culture across manufacturing operations and the supplier base. The role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Product Management, and Sales to improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy & Quality Leadership
  • Develop and lead the quality strategy and priorities for the United States and Mexico regions.
  • Establish consistent quality standards, processes, and expectations across operation locations in including both manufacturing and distribution locations.
  • Champion a zero-defect culture focused on prevention, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and monitor key quality metrics, including PPM, yield, cost of poor quality, customer complaints, and supplier performance.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for significant quality and regulatory issues in the region.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to ensure quality priorities support overall business objectives.
Operational Execution
  • Provide quality leadership and oversight across all US and Mexico manufacturing locations.
  • Oversee manufacturing quality, customer quality, supplier quality, and product regulatory activities within the function.
  • Provide functional quality leadership and guidance to North America distribution operations, partnering with Distribution leadership to develop quality strategies, align KPIs, strengthen quality practices, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure significant quality issues are addressed through effective root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Sourcing and Supply Chain to improve supplier quality and performance.
  • Ensure products meet applicable quality, regulatory, certification, and testing requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of quality practices across manufacturing locations and suppliers.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and cost of quality.
Talent & Team Development
  • Lead and develop site and functional quality leaders across United States and Mexico.
  • Establish clear goals, expectations, and accountability for the Quality organization.
  • Coach and mentor quality leaders and support succession and talent development.
  • Build strong collaboration and alignment across the Quality team and with other functions.
  • Develop the organizational and technical capabilities needed to support future business needs.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, including multi-site quality responsibility.
  • 5+ years of experience leading quality teams and/or quality leaders.
  • Broad experience across manufacturing quality, customer quality, supplier quality, and product regulatory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, process control, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and drive accountability across multiple locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using quality metrics and data to drive improvement.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
