Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking an experienced EHS Technical Resource to provide onsite environmental, health, safety, and fire/life safety support for a multi‑campus environment in the Charlotte, NC.
Fire and life safety experience is essential for this position. Candidates must have demonstrated hands‑on experience conducting fire and life safety inspections, identifying hazards and code deficiencies, documenting findings, and supporting corrective actions.
The successful candidate must also have excellent technical and organizational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and electronic safety, inspection, and reporting systems. This position requires a detail‑oriented professional who can independently manage multiple projects, priorities, corrective actions, and deadlines.
A college degree is not required. Relevant hands‑on experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated competency are highly valued.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct routine and risk‑based fire, life safety, building, laboratory, and EHS inspections across multiple campus locations.
- Inspect exits and means of egress, fire doors, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, combustible storage, electrical conditions, emergency equipment, and other observable fire and life safety conditions.
- Support fire drills, fire marshal and regulatory inspections, facility readiness reviews, pre‑inspection walkthroughs, and post‑inspection corrective actions.
- Identify and clearly document hazards, deficiencies, photographs, corrective actions, responsible parties, priority levels, due dates, and closure evidence.
- Track corrective actions through completion and escalates immediate, recurring, overdue, or unresolved safety concerns.
- Support laboratory safety, chemical safety, hazardous waste, PPE, indoor air quality, environmental testing, emergency preparedness, and incident investigations as assigned.
