The Value Added Services (VA) & Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily value-added processing and quality control activities within the distribution center. This position provides direct leadership to associates performing activities such as labeling, repackaging, kitting, ticketing, inspection, rework, and other specific requirements.

The Supervisor ensures that all value-added work is completed accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards, and established quality requirements. This role is responsible for monitoring production and quality performance, identifying process issues, implementing corrective actions, and developing associates to support a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and experience in a distribution, warehouse or quality environment.

  • Supervise and provide direct leadership to Value Added Services and Quality Control associates.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor daily VA/QC workload based on requirements, priorities, deadlines, and available resources.
  • Ensure value-added activities, including labeling, ticketing, repackaging, kitting, bundling, inspection, rework, and other special projects, are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Review work instructions, customer specifications, samples, and other requirements to ensure associates understand expected results.
  • Monitor production progress and make adjustments to staffing, workflow, and priorities as needed.
  • Ensure completed work meets established quality standards before product is released for shipment or returned to inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve VAS processes, reduce labor and material costs, and increase productivity.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Inventory, Logistics, and other departments to ensure requirements are met.
Quality Control
  • Oversee quality control inspections and verification processes throughout the distribution center.
  • Establish and maintain consistent quality standards for VAS activities and finished product.
  • Inspect products, packaging, labels, quantities, and workmanship for accuracy and compliance with company requirements.
  • Identify defects, errors, damaged product, incorrect labeling, packaging issues, and other quality concerns.
  • Ensure nonconforming product is properly identified, documented, segregated, and addressed.
  • Investigate recurring quality issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Partner with operations and other departments to identify root causes and prevent repeat quality issues.
  • Communicate quality concerns promptly to management and affected departments.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational standards.
  • Monitor inventory movement and ensure proper handling of goods to reduce errors and inefficiencies.
  • Utilize data and reporting tools to track performance metrics and recommend process enhancements.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Skills & Abilities Required
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a distribution, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and drive operational improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with teams at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions throughout shift
