STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company, is currently seeking a Quality Inspector for 2nd shiftin Charlotte, NC. The primary responsibility of the Quality Inspector is to review bag samples from machines for defects and track the data. The Quality Inspector should have excellent attention to detail, willingness to work in a team environment, and ability to effectively communicate with plant employees.

Position is located at 1201 Westinghouse Blvd. This position reports to the Quality and Safety Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Review product from each machine throughout the shift.
  • Check quality of bag formation.
  • Track data in Excel Spreadsheets as well as other computer-based software for number of defects per machine.
  • Assist with shift training and communication as it relates to quality.
  • Check and track case weights for accuracy and consistency.
  • Review concerns with supervisor to determine if machine maintenance is needed.
  • Conduct quality investigations on QA Hold material (raw materials, finished goods) and coordinate disposition of retained product in a timely manner, when required.
  • Conduct quality inspection of printing press processes.
  • Complete all other assigned duties as required.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in ambiguous situations leadership skills.
  • Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines.
PREFERRED

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma minimum required, higher education or training preferred.
  • Quality inspector experience – paper or corrugated manufacturing preferred
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Excellent writing abilities.
  • Basic math abilities and general knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Constant standing, hearing, walking; frequent stooping and bending, twisting, turning, and maintaining balance.
  • Occasional kneeling and reaching over the shoulder.
  • Also required simple grasping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be available.
Working Environment
  • Hot temperatures; noisy, uneven surfaces, mechanical hazards, dust/dirt.
