Beam isseekinga highly talented and motivatedengineering or science student interested ina career in biopharmaceutical manufacturing to join our Technical Operationsteamfrom January through June 2027as a co-op.

The Technical Operations co-opwillbe responsible for supporting thecross-functional validationteamsthatdemonstratenewly developedgene editing equipment and manufacturing processeswork as intendedby Beamandasrequired by government agencies (includingFDA) for the benefit of patients.

Supportactivitieswill include learning aboutandobtainingscientific/technical information related to manufacturing equipment andprocessesto ensureintegrity of dataincluded in Technical Operations protocols and reports.

As a part of thesecross-functional teams, the candidate will have the opportunity tointeractwithvarious functions involved with supporting the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, including R&D(process and analytical development),Manufacturing, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT),Quality (both Quality Control and Quality Assurance), Supply Chain, and Procurement to help the candidate explorepotential career options in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

• Develop an understanding of Beam’s gene editing manufacturing equipment, technologies, and processes supporting both hematology and liver programs.
• Review and verify technical and scientific data included in risk assessments, protocols, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity in support of project timelines and milestones.
• Communicate findings, recommendations, and any identified issues from verification activities to cross-functional teams through written summaries, presentations, and verbal updates, supporting timely resolution and project milestones.
• Support the evaluation and documentation of manufacturing process data, ensuring records are accurate, attributable, legible, and compliant, while identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Engineering (Chemical, Biological, Mechanical) or the Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field), required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio, and retrieving scientific or technical information from digital sources (e.g., databases and scientific literature), required.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, required.
• Experience with technical writing and developing presentations to summarize and communicate scientific or technical information, preferred.
• This role follows a hybrid work schedule and requires onsite attendance 4-5 days per week.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university program and maintain their student status throughout the duration of the internship to be eligible.

Hourly pay will will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
