Server

Charlotte, NC, US

Servers at the Whitewater Center are responsible for providing friendly and responsive service in a high-volume restaurant environment. The Server is an on-site, part-time, hourly position who reports directly to the Front of House managers.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver quality dining experiences- accurately take orders, submit orders to kitchen, deliver items to guests, refill glasses, etc.
  • Stay open and attentive to the needs of the guest.
  • Handle cash transactions and operate a restaurant point-of-sale system.
  • Stay current and be able to inform guests of menu options, sides, and specials.
  • Maintain a clean dining environment- pre-bus and bus tables, sweep floors, etc. as needed.
  • Perform assigned side work tasks and efficiently make use of downtime.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of operating hours, activities, and products offered outside of Food and Beverage department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, and inform customers about food preparation details.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Serv Safe alcohol certification or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years serving in a high volume, casual dining atmosphere.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
  • Must be able to bend, lean, stand, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for sustained periods of time and in all weather and environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
  • All positions at Whitewater require employees to report and work onsite at Whitewater locations.

The Food and Beverage Department delivers exceptional, chef-driven culinary service to Whitewater guests. Whitewater is home to diverse and ever-evolving food and beverage outlets, including full-service and fast-casual dining options. In addition, the Food and Beverage Department oversees catering for private events and Adventure Dining.
