The backbone of our kitchen is the prep/line cook. Their main objective is to prepare top‑notch meals that meet the precise requirements of the chef and be consistent for our guests. The responsibilities of this position encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to:

Prepping ingredients, assembling dishes, cooking, plating, and ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards are met.

Responsible for prepping ingredients by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, as well as measuring and portioning ingredients. They also need to marinate meats and prepare sauces, dressings, and other components of dishes.

Once the ingredients are prepared, the prep/line cook assembles the dishes according to the chef's specifications. They must follow recipes and instructions accurately to create consistent and high‑quality meals. This requires attention to detail, knowledge of different cooking techniques, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.

Responsible for cooking various elements of a dish, such as grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, or frying items. They must ensure that the food is cooked to the right temperature and that it is presented attractively on the plate.

Responsible for plating dishes in an appealing manner. They arrange the different components of a dish on the plate, paying attention to aesthetics and portion sizes. This requires creativity and a good eye for detail.

Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards is also a crucial responsibility of a prep/line cook. They must keep their work station clean and organized, follow proper hygiene practices, and adhere to all food safety regulations. This ensures the safety and quality of the food being prepared.
