Job Title: Frontend Manager
Location: Compare Foods – Milton Rd. & Sunset Rd., Charlotte, North Carolina
Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Frontend Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front end of the store — including cashiers, customer service, baggers, and front-end assistants — ensuring an excellent shopping experience for every customer. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to maintain accuracy, speed, and exceptional customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and train all front-end employees, including cashiers and baggers.
• Monitor cashier performance and ensure proper handling of cash, coupons, refunds, and transactions.
• Maintain proper staffing levels and coordinate breaks/lunches efficiently.
• Ensure that all cash registers and service areas are clean, organized, and fully functional.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and refunds in a professional and courteous manner.
• Manage daily cash reconciliation and prepare cash reports for Store Management and Accounting.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and loss prevention.
• Support and motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service and promote a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with other department managers to support store operations and customer flow.
• Implement best practices to improve productivity, service quality, and team morale.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in retail or grocery front-end operations.
• Strong knowledge of cash handling procedures, POS systems, and customer service principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery retail environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
• Interaction with customers and staff throughout the shift.
