The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by generating leads, nurturing customer relationships, and closing sales through phone, email, and virtual platforms. This candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of transportation, logistics, and sales processes. The role reports directly to the Director of Motor Carrier Sales East.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet annual Net Lease budget by owning and executing the sales process for assigned accounts and new customers. This includes making outbound calls to potential customers, explaining initial requirements, and working closely with internal resources to close the sale.
  • Create a robust new prospective customer pipeline
  • Contact customers increasing our sales pipeline to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
  • Assist in collections, when necessary.
  • Proactively build and maintain a strong working knowledge of DCLI offerings and the Intermodal Transportation Industry.
  • Stay informed about the company’s products, services, pricing, and promotions.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and outcomes in Salesforce.
  • Responsible for achieving daily call metrics to drive maximum penetration in the marketplace.
  • Negotiate and close sales to achieve or exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Understand technical components of an Intermodal Chassis and communicate it effectively to the market
  • Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutions
  • Maintain customer folders with backup documentation and approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Transportation
  • Minimum Three to five years of recent experience in a sales organization.
  • Transportation industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to independently acquire and analyze information in depth
  • Ability to see and understand a business opportunity and make a clear and actionable business recommendation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proactive, willing to learn and strong team player.
  • Excellent customer service, follow-up skills and sense of urgency
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Willing to operate independently
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Salesforce or similar CRM platform) required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
