ABOUT THE POSITIONWe are seeking an experienced Community Relations & Sales Specialist to join our Business Development team. This position combines community outreach and referral development with new-client sales. You will work closely with our Business Development Manager to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, senior-care organizations, and other referral partners.
You will also respond to new-business inquiries, speak with prospective clients and their families, identify their care needs, explain our services, address questions and objections, and help qualified prospects take the next step toward beginning care. WHATYOU WILL DO
- Partner with the Business Development Manager to execute territory, account, and community-outreach plans.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living communities, physicians, discharge planners, social workers, home health and hospice organizations, geriatric care managers, senior-service professionals, and other community partners.
- Conduct prospecting, scheduled visits, presentations, networking, educational meetings, community events, and consistent referral-source follow-up.
- Educate referral partners and prospective clients about Comfort Keepers’ non-medical in-home care services, capabilities, differentiators, and referral process.
- Manage assigned referral accounts and prospects while maintaining accurate contact information, activity, notes, outcomes, and next steps in the company’s CRM system.
- Respond promptly and professionally to new-business calls and leads during assigned weekday coverage and rotating weekends.
- Speak with prospective clients and families to understand their care needs, urgency, schedule, location, decision-making process, and other relevant circumstances.
- Explain service options and value, answer questions, address objections, and use consultative closing skills to secure the appropriate next step, such as a care consultation, assessment, or service-start discussion.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective clients who are undecided or planning for future care.
- Coordinate timely and accurate handoffs to care coordination, scheduling, operations, and leadership.
- Support local marketing campaigns, community events, partner education, presentations, and other business-development activities.
- Track referral activity, inquiry response, consultations, lead conversion, admissions, and overall referral growth.
- Demonstrated experience responding to and closing inbound inquiry calls or leads in a consultative, service-based sales environment.
- Strong relationship-building, prospecting, presentation, listening, objection-handling, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to communicate with empathy and confidence when families may be experiencing stress, uncertainty, or an urgent need for care.
- A self-directed, organized, and results-oriented approach to work.
- Strong attention to detail and reliable CRM documentation.
