Technical Sales Engineer / Solutions Consultant Opportunity Summary

We are partnering with a rapidly growing software company that develops mission-critical technology used by public sector and emergency response organisations across the United States. The business is expanding its go-to-market team and is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to act as a trusted subject matter expert throughout the sales process.

This is a highly consultative role positioned between Sales, Product, and Customer Success. You'll work alongside Account Executives, engaging with prospective customers to understand operational challenges, deliver tailored product demonstrations, answer technical questions, and help organisations evaluate how technology can improve their day-to-day operations.

The role would suit someone with a strong technical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to confidently engage both operational stakeholders and senior decision-makers.

• Location: Fully remote (US)

• Partner with Account Executives on complex sales opportunities and customer evaluations.
• Conduct detailed discovery sessions to understand customer workflows, technical requirements, and operational challenges.
• Deliver tailored product demonstrations that align platform capabilities to customer outcomes.
• Act as the technical subject matter expert during evaluations, workshops, and executive presentations.
• Support on-site customer meetings and demonstrations when deeper technical conversations are required.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to answer technical questions and configure demonstration environments.
• Assist with proof-of-concept activities, workflow mapping, and solution validation.
• Support RFP, RFI, and procurement processes when required.
• Capture customer feedback and communicate market requirements to internal teams.
• Help strengthen internal product knowledge across the commercial organisation, including coaching and enabling sales team members.

• Experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Pre-Sales, Solutions Consulting, Sales Engineering, Product Specialist, Technical Account Management, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Experience supporting complex SaaS or Gov Tech software platforms.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable leading product demonstrations and customer-facing presentations.
• Strong discovery, requirements gathering, and solution design capabilities.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product and Customer Success teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and facilitate discussions.
• Ability to travel for customer visits and industry events as required.
