About the RoleAs a Natural Resources Project Manager, you'll lead a variety of environmental and natural resource projects from early planning through completion, balancing regulatory compliance, technical quality, client needs, and team coordination. This role blends fieldwork and office responsibilities and requires close collaboration with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams. You'll play a key role in delivering sustainable solutions while supporting project performance, safety, and professional growth within the team.
- Manage natural resources projects from proposal development through execution, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to evaluate jurisdictional waters, support environmental permitting efforts, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Conduct and oversee wetland delineations, stream determinations, mitigation support, ecological assessments, and protected species surveys as needed.
- Work alongside and mentor technical staff, ensuring safety, quality standards, and operational objectives are met while coordinating with other service lines to support project needs.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide regular project updates, and represent the company in professional and community settings to support business development and visibility.
- Earned a Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Possess 4+ years of experience with wetland delineations, stream determinations, environmental permitting, mitigation, protected species surveys, and ecological surveys, and have previous experience in the Southeast United States.
- GIS experience and/or knowledge.
- Demonstrate successful team leadership and project‑level management with a solid understanding of safety policies, quality, business metrics, human resources policies, and risk management concepts.
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills for clients, staff, and regulatory personnel.
- Work the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for up to 12 hours a day.
- Routinely lift and carry 40–50 lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
- Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites.
