The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all our guests, employees, and visitors of the hotel. The officer protects all hotel assets, ensures that hotel security policies and procedures in accordance with Sonesta Hotels International corporate guidelines are enforced, and that the hotel is in full compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Security Officer also performs hotel security functions, including fire prevention, safety, investigation, and resolution of guest and employee complaints regarding safety and security matters.

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients, managing according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instilling a passion for customer service in all associates.
• Perform normal hotel security functions such as fire prevention and safety checks.
• Investigate thefts, accidents, and other incidents which occur on the property.
• Prevent losses of company and guest property due to theft, burglary, pilferage, and other criminal activity.
• Ensure a safe and tranquil environment for guests and employees.
• Assist guests and colleagues on all security and safety related enquiries.
• Resolve guest and employee complaints regarding safety and security matters.
• Conduct floor patrols during the tour of duty, including checking doors, windows, and securing facilities during non‑operating hours.
• Monitor the activities of personnel on the premises to detect and counter thefts and other criminal activities.
• Complete associate forms and reports related to any accidents or issues within the premises of the hotel.
• Immediately report hotel deficiencies to appropriate departments for immediate repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Management.

• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Adhere to the property’s grooming standards.
• Stand and walk continuously, and run as warranted.
• Safely operate a motor vehicle during all hours and in all weather conditions.
• Understand and execute all safety and emergency procedures (e.g., fire, crowd control, inclement weather, bomb threats).
• Operate emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, wheelchairs, respirators).
• Lift, carry, and store approximately 50 lbs. in overhead areas.
• Lift and move a immobilized adult in emergency situations.
• Bend, squat, kneel, climb (including stairs and ladders), and reach.
• Push and/or pull approximately 75 lbs.
• Work in extreme temperatures.
• Utilize communication equipment (e.g., telephones, radios, beepers).
• Communicate clearly and effectively with guests and other employees.
• Interact with guests and other employees in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
• Read and write effectively.
• Expose direct contact with the public; establish a high degree of customer service (smile, eye contact, positive personal presentation).
• Work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
