Provides security to resident students and their guests or visitors. Enforces Housing and Residence Life policies and patrols residence halls to ensure coverage of all residences.
RequiredMinimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require a valid N.C. driver’s license. Applicants may qualify through an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Duties- Perform protective, security, and enforcement work to support campus operations, ensuring the safety of property, facilities, and residents.
- Patrol interior and exterior areas by foot, vehicle, or other means.
- Monitor security systems.
- Enforce Housing and Residence Life and University policies, responding to emergencies or suspicious activity.
- Provide information and assistance to the public, maintain records and reports, and uphold confidentiality.
- Foster positive relationships with students and guests, ensuring a respectful and safe residential environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and applicable regulations, as well as proficiency in using security and surveillance equipment.
- Shift, weekend, and/or overtime work may be required; position is mandatory during adverse weather or campus emergencies.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for providing courteous public assistance and enforcing policies with tact and professionalism.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion, and ability to complete detailed reports accurately.

This position is designated as mandatory and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by adverse weather conditions.
Criminal background check and motor vehicle report will be required.
