Primary Purpose of Job:

This position provides both physical and administrative security services for the Company. It protects employees, customers, authorized visitors, vendors, and Quik Trip and private property from harm; and deters illegal activity, theft, and vandalism within and upon Quik Trip’s property while preserving Quik Trip brand reputation as the convenience retail destination of choice. This position also provides research and documentation for security incidents occurring on Quik Trip property.

Functions of this position
  • Identifying, reporting, and mitigating observed life, fire, or safety hazards.
  • Conducting appropriate notification to Corporate Security Operations Center to coordinate emergency responders or specialized services if a hazard requires immediate attention.
  • Ensuring internal sensitive areas and external access/egress points are secured per Corporate Security Standards.
  • Determining whether unsecured locations should be secured or if suspicious circumstances necessitate notification to a Corporate Security Contact.
  • Ensuring personnel and vehicles on store or non‑store property have a legitimate business need for access.
  • Initiating appropriate protocols per Quik Trip Policies for unauthorized personnel or vehicles.
  • Logging results, actions taken, and unresolved mitigation measures for all hazards and security checks.
Designated primary responder for Security Incident Response
  • Enforcing Corporate Security Incident Response policies, securing the scene and potential evidence, rendering first aid, and directing traffic if required.
  • Responding to security alarms and calling for assistance.
  • Providing security during the transportation of large sums of cash and/or other valuables.
  • Determining when a Corporate Security Operations Center notification is needed and coordinating emergency responders or specialized services.
  • Using force to detain individuals in accordance with state law and Corporate Firearm Safety and Use of Force Policies when necessary.
Conducts research, documentation, and preparation of evidentiary case files for security incidents occurring on Q‑T property. Essential tasks include
  • Interviewing complainants, witnesses, and victims to document relevant facts.
  • Maintaining an auditable digital archive and logging data into the Security Department’s case management system.
  • Preparing law‑enforcement reports for incidents meriting investigation.
Secures and safeguards Lost and Found property. Essential tasks include
  • Appropriately securing lost/found property.
  • Updating the Lost and Found Database with details.
  • Attempting to locate owners and transferring custody of property.
  • Disposing of unclaimed property per Corporate Security Policy.
Perform other Security/Operations‑related tasks and functions as directed by Management, including
  • Physical Security Assessments of Quik Trip Stores and Non‑Store Facilities per Corporate Enterprise Security System Standards.
  • Maintaining 24/7 recall readiness on a rotational schedule.
  • Traveling to states where Quik Trip conducts business for Protective Services missions and holding a valid driver’s license.
  • Completing annual Physical Aptitude Test, Weapon Qualification, TASER recertification, Emergency First Aid (CPR‑AED) recertification, Blood Borne Pathogens, NARCAN, Defensive Tactics, Active Shooter, Legal Update, and Mental Health Update. Submitting to annual drug screens and background checks.
Customer Relations
  • Complying with customer service standards as outlined in Policies & Procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean, professional appearance.
  • Adhering to local, state, and federal laws on responsible retailing, anti‑trust, AML, ADA Compliance, Food Safety, and EBT programs.
  • Ensuring customer safety by addressing and mitigating hazards such as wet floors and icy sidewalks.
Store Appearance:
Complete upkeep tasks and assigned tasks complying with Q‑T Standards of Store Operations and Career Development Task Guides, including but not limited to
  • Stocking straws, cups, napkins, and condiments.
  • Sweeping/mopping floors.
