Senior Security Engineer, Business Engagement

About the Team

We are revamping how the Information Security Business Engagement team works within Lexis Nexis Legal & Professional. This team sits at the intersection of security, product, and technology, working directly alongside our product and engineering organisations to embed security requirements into the products our customers rely on every day. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be a key security voice as our product and technology teams design, build, and ship new features. You’ll work closely with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to make sure security and trust are built in from the first requirement, not bolted on at the end. You’ll also support our Customer Engagement team by helping keep trust‑related materials up to date.

You will own security for your assigned products and work streams, working with autonomy day to day while partnering with the Principal Engineer and your manager on higher‑stakes or ambiguous decisions. As you grow in the role, you’ll take on more responsibility for how the Business Engagement team delivers.

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to embed security requirements into new feature design from the outset, involving our DPO team where privacy considerations arise.
• Build effective working relationships with product and engineering stakeholders, growing your credibility and influence over time.
• Collaborate across Information Security, helping ensure the appropriate security teams are engaged in new feature design where needed.
• Contribute to customer trust materials – including brochures, whitepapers – and help transition them to our Customer Engagement team.
• Stay current on how AI is reshaping both product capability and the security risks and expectations that come with it.

• Solid experience operating in a SaaS or cloud‑based product environment, with a good understanding of how security intersects with product design and go‑to‑market.
• Experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams – comfortable raising security concerns and having them challenged.
• The ability to engage credibly with stakeholders and contribute to outcomes, with support on the most senior conversations.
• Strong working knowledge of security domains relevant to SaaS platforms (e.g. data protection, identity, application security); specialist security certification is valuable but not a prerequisite for the right background.
• Genuine curiosity about and fluency with AI tools and how they’re changing both product development and security practice.
• Comfort working as part of a global team.

• Prior experience in a security, product, or engineering role that involved translating policy into technical or computational requirements.
• Familiarity with legal, compliance, or regulated industries.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools and workflows.
• Experience responding to customer security questionnaires and building or maintaining a trust knowledge base.

Within your first year, you’ll have become a reliable, trusted security partner for the product teams you support – someone Product and Engineering colleagues bring in early rather than as an afterthought. You’ll be delivering security outcomes independently on your work streams and growing towards a broader, more senior remit on the team.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $95,300 - $158,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
