The Opportunity
As a Senior Identity Product Manager within USAA's Member Protection organization, you will help shape enterprise member identity management: how members are verified, how identity assurance is established and maintained over time, and how identity fraud is detected and prevented across the member lifecycle. This position supports the enterprise identity proofing strategy and identity fraud prevention posture, contributing to the authoritative identity signals that downstream functions to make risk decisions.
The candidate will partner closely with authentication, technology, fraud, compliance, architecture, and experience teams to support deliver defensible, risk-tiered identity capabilities that serve members.
This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site four days per week.
What you'll do:
- Support the enterprise identity proofing and assurance roadmap, covering new member enrollment, identity re-verification, step-up proofing, and profile recovery, by translating strategy into well-scoped business requirements, balancing signal quality with member friction.
- Utilizes subject matter expertise of fraud risk management requirements, policies, laws, and regulations to influence business strategies and solutions and advise the business on how to strengthen and manage fraud risk requirements on business action plans, projects, or operational requests.
- Contributes to the execution of risk assessments with business partners and the lines of business to determine impact and solutions.
- Translate business objectives, risk requirements, and member needs into clear, actionable identity service requirements for technology, architecture, and design teams, across the identity lifecycle from initial proofing through ongoing assurance maintenance.
- Builds and supports Digital and Technology product Business Case artifacts and hypotheses, helping communicate the value proposition of proposed products and experiences.
- Applies data-driven problem-solving techniques to understand and report on product and experience performance against KPIs/KRIs.
- Uses a variety of tools and resources to uncover areas of opportunity that inform product and experience improvements, and helps track implementation of those improvements.
- Prepares clear, compelling presentations and other communications for a range of audiences, and supports Digital or Technology product definition, concept, and collaboration sessions that coordinate discovery, development, delivery, and validation activities.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
- 6 years of operations experience in a relevant functional area to include financial services, Fraud, AML, compliance, risk, audit, third party risk management or other related operational areas that support fraud risk management initiatives within the business.
- 4 years of fraud, compliance, risk, audit, or regulatory related experience with accountability for projects, programs, processes, or policies.
- Experience supporting product development for a regulated, enterprise-scale capability, including contributing to roadmap strategy, translating regulatory and business requirements into product and technical decisions, and partnering with architecture and engineering teams to deliver governed, reusable capabilities.
