The Heavy Equipment Operator / Laborer works closely with the project managers and crew to ensure sites are prepared and maintained properly throughout the construction process. This role requires someone who can operate machines confidently, perform basic maintenance, and be willing to help with labor tasks when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, mini‑excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks
- Perform grading, trenching, digging footings, back filling, and occasional demolition work
- Load and secure equipment for transport when needed
- Perform routine daily maintenance on equipment, including greasing and inspections
- Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and follow safety protocols
- Support the team with general labor duties as needed
- Communicate with project managers and coworkers to stay aligned on tasks
- At least three years of experience operating heavy equipment in residential construction
- Experience with routine maintenance of construction machinery
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and situational awareness
- Willingness to take direction and support others on the team
- Ability to stay productive without direct supervision
- Valid driver's license with a clean or insurable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work on‑site in Charlotte full‑time – this is not a remote or hybrid role
