Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Housing Shop Supervisor.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- You are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Use standard hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Required
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Experience and knowledge in mechanical trade background using tools such as (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches)
- Knowledge with some experience with maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills in both verbal and written with ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
- Computer knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
