Overview

The Civil Foreman supervises and performs construction duties on a daily basis at telecommunication sites. This role requires leading subcontractors and job site personnel to complete the assigned scope of work timely, safely, and in accordance with company and customer safety requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct a crew of 2–4 members.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations for hiring, firing, training, and advancement of crew members.
  • Ensure full understanding of the job or project scope of work (SOW) and method of procedures (MOP) and practice to perform the assigned task.
  • Write a detailed MOP and maintain job records for use in managing or controlling the project.
  • Schedule employee work hours and plan the work of assigned employees.
  • Determine proper project techniques for assigned employees.
  • Work with the Superintendent or Construction Manager to determine materials, equipment, and tools to be used for assigned projects.
  • Read, interpret, and build according to design site plans and layouts.
  • Control the flow and distribution of materials and supplies; plan and control the job budget.
  • Manage all data in Betacom tools (Site Manager) and custom tools.
  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and company assets.
  • Perform inspection of entire installs, troubleshoot problems, and capture and provide closeout packages.
  • Participate and assist in handling employee complaints, grievances, discipline, and probation according to company policy and legal requirements.
  • Ensure crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements; inspect all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
  • Report any workers’ compensation injuries or other incidents.
  • Perform other closely related work such as timesheet and other recordkeeping, completing Job Safety Analysis, adjusting equipment and tools, and any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Electrician Apprenticeship Certificate (preferred);
    Licensed Electrician (preferred).
  • Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English); good computer skills.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Clean driving record, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation to and from work; ability to accommodate out‑of‑town travel if required.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro‑mechanical equipment.
  • Certified in OSHA 30, RF Awareness Training, and First Aid/CPR.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively report verbally and in written reports to the Superintendent and/or Tower Construction Manager.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and in outside weather conditions.
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat; may work near energized lines and equipment.
  • Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • May encounter fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Work Environment
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; regularly exposed to wet/humid conditions and extreme heat.
  • Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Information

$28.00 – $32.00 per hour
