Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of an engineering and testing laboratory environment. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility infrastructure and mechanical systems, including HVAC-related equipment, lab utilities, and test systems. The ideal candidate will have broad maintenance experience in a laboratory, industrial, or manufacturing environment and possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab infrastructure, mechanical systems, and test equipment.

* Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical components.

* Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new lab systems, including mechanical connections and equipment calibration.

* Conduct safety inspections of lab utilities, including chilled water systems, compressed air systems, refrigerant systems, and electrical interfaces.

* Maintain service logs, preventive maintenance records, and inventory of tools and replacement parts.

* Follow and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable safety standards and regulations.

* Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

* Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities on production machinery, production systems, and facility support equipment to support operational quality and reliability.

Required Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED.

* Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or a related field within a laboratory, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.

* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

* Working knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting.

* Ability to work in dynamic environments that may include experimental or custom-built systems.

Preferred Qualifications

* EPA 608 Universal Certification.

* Experience supporting HVAC/R testing laboratories or environmental chambers.

* Forklift and/or overhead crane certification.

* Additional technical training or certifications in mechanical, industrial, or facilities maintenance.

Work Environment

* Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying materials up to 50 lbs.

* Regular use of ladders and work around mechanical and electrical equipment.

* Exposure to refrigerants, compressed gases, varying temperatures, and industrial laboratory environments.

* Occasional after-hours, weekend, or overtime work to support critical maintenance activities.

* Shift: 3rd Shift

* Education : HS Diploma / GED required
