Description:
Assists and supports trouble shooting, performing repairs/adjustments and preventive maintenance inspections on all production machinery, production systems and plant support equipment supporting quality assurance.
Position Summary:Company is seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations of our engineering labs. This hands-on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of facility infrastructure and mechanical systems, including HVAC, lab utilities, and test equipment. The ideal candidate will have broad maintenance experience in a lab, industrial, or manufacturing setting—not limited to HVAC.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on lab infrastructure, mechanical systems, and HVAC test equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and other mechanical components
- Support installation and commissioning of new lab systems, including mechanical hookups and calibrations
- Conduct safety inspections of lab utilities: chilled water, compressed air, refrigerant systems, and electrical interfaces
- Maintain service logs, PM records, and inventory of tools and parts
- Follow and enforce LOTO and safety protocols in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and compliant
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities or mechanical maintenance in a lab, industrial, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments
- Familiarity with basic electrical troubleshooting
- Comfortable working in dynamic lab environments with experimental systems
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (a plus)
- Experience with HVAC/R test labs or environmental chambers
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
- Frequent standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), ladder use, and work around mechanical equipment
- Exposure to refrigerants, compressed gases, and varying temperatures
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work to support critical maintenance
- Education:
HS Diploma/GED
