Facility Maintenance Technician
What this job involves:

As a Facility Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our clients' facilities operate at peak performance. You'll be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and repair of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire/life safety, and building control systems. This hands-on position requires you to maintain facility services through preventative maintenance programs, inventory control, vendor management, and technical troubleshooting.

You'll respond to emergencies, diagnose system malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to keep critical building systems running smoothly. What your day‑to‑day will look like:

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Fire Life Safety (FLS), lighting, and emergency systems to maintain optimal performance

Respond promptly to emergency situations and building system failures, troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions

Replace lighting components including bulbs, ballasts, and fixtures throughout the facility

Repair and maintain motors, pumps, water supply systems, boilers, and associated mechanical equipment

Record equipment readings, make operational adjustments, and maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and service requests

Monitor and evaluate the quality, pricing, and performance of outside contractors and vendors to ensure competitive value and quality standards

Verify delivery accuracy for parts and supplies, including count, pricing, and descriptions for all maintenance-­related orders

Analyze monthly client service request summaries to identify recurring operational problems and implement corrective measures

Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies while ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations

Required qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades education in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC

Universal Technician certification for CFCs (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in building repair and maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems

Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong analytical skills to diagnose system operations, identify malfunctions, and determine appropriate corrective actions

Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Hands‑on mechanical aptitude with ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to facility equipment and operations

Preferred qualifications:

Additional technical certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems

Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management software

Knowledge of current building codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements

Previous experience in commercial or corporate facility environments

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs
