Multi Craft Maintenance Technician

A. O. Smith seeks a Multi Craft Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing equipment and facilities running safely and reliably. In this on-site role in our performance-driven, safety-focused environment, you will perform mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance on production lines, water heater manufacturing systems, and facility support equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting breakdowns, executing preventive maintenance, supporting new equipment installs, and driving continuous improvement.

You'll collaborate with engineering and operations while growing your technical skills in a stable, global manufacturer of essential water heating and treatment solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, water heaters, and related systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machinery and components
• Perform basic PLC, sensor, and controls troubleshooting and adjustments
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS and follow work order processes
• Inspect equipment for safety and reliability; follow lockout/tagout and safety procedures
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment performance
• Identify and implement continuous improvement actions to increase equipment uptime
• Assist with facility maintenance, including utilities, material handling systems, and support equipment
