About the RoleThe Fuel Systems Technician performs electrical, construction, maintenance, testing, and repair work on commercial fuel systems. This field-based role includes wiring and conduit installation, equipment diagnostics, compliance testing, construction support, and service calls, with a pathway into a Construction Foreman role.
Training & Travel Requirements– all company travel expenses covered
- Initial Training: ~4 weeks in Richardson, TX (25–50% overnight travel)
- After Training: 50–75% overnight travel, sometimes 2–3 weeks at a time during peak seasons (weekends may be required)
- Install and terminate conduit and wiring for fuel system components and emergency generator equipment.
- Test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair UST/AST systems and related electrical/electro‑mechanical equipment.
- Perform monitoring, secondary containment, spill bucket, and vapor recovery testing.
- Support construction/repair projects and respond to maintenance and service calls.
- Complete daily logs and progress reports; meet project deadlines.
- 2–5 years of related commercial electrical construction, installation, and supervision experience.
- Electrical license/certification preferred;
Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician certification is a plus. - Knowledge of NEC requirements and commercial power distribution, lighting, and low‑voltage systems.
- ICC UST and Veeder Root certifications preferred.
- 24- or 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate or current 8-hour refresher.
- Valid driver’s license required;
Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
- Complete background check, MVR, and physical/drug screening.
- Travel and work out of town as needed.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members.
- Read electrical/construction plans and machine diagnostic reports.
- Strong organization and good housekeeping practices.
- Drive/haul a trailer and travel extensive distances. (see training & travel requirements)
- Walk on varying job‑site terrain.
- Climb ladders/stairs and kneel, squat, bend, stoop, and twist as needed.
