The Field Technician will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing Lorenz Pan palletizing systems at customer sites in and around Charlotte, NC. This full-time, on-site role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues, performing scheduled and preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. The technician will read and interpret technical drawings and documentation, configure system parameters, and support upgrades or modifications to meet customer needs.
The role also includes training customer personnel on proper operation and basic maintenance, documenting service activities, and providing clear feedback to engineering and service teams. Regular interaction with customers, travel to local and regional sites, and adherence to safety and quality standards are key components of the position.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial machinery installation, alignment, and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, motors, and basic troubleshooting of control panels.
- Familiarity with automation and control systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, drives) and the ability to follow technical diagrams and schematics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and standard measuring instruments for field service work.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work independently in dynamic on-site conditions.
- Willingness to travel to customer facilities in the region and work flexible hours as project and service needs require.
- Previous experience as a field technician, maintenance technician, or similar role in manufacturing or industrial automation is highly beneficial.
