Level 2 Structured Cabling Technician ensures that structured cabling infrastructure meets TIA/EIA standards, supports network performance, and integrates with other low‑voltage systems such as access control, CCTV, wireless, and audio‑visual (AV) solutions
Key ResponsibilitiesCabling Installation & Termination:
Install, terminate, dress, label, and test CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cablesTesting:
Perform copper and fiber optic testing using Fluke or equivalent certification equipmentInfrastructure Setup:
Install patch panels, racks, cabinets, ladder racks, cable trays, J‑hooks, MDF/IDF, and related equipmentBlueprint Reading:
Interpret blueprints, floor plans, one‑line diagrams, and construction drawingsTroubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve cabling and connectivity issues with minimal supervisionSystem Integration:
Install/support access control, CCTV, wireless APs, AV, and other low‑voltage systemsSafety & Compliance:
Follow OSHA standards, use PPE, and work safely on ladders, scissor lifts, and aerial equipmentMentoring:
Guide Level 1 technicians and assist project leads with daily site activities
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years in commercial low‑voltage or structured cabling; strong copper and fiber optic installation/termination skills
