This is a local, field-based position supporting projects throughout the Greater Charlotte metropolitan area and surrounding markets in North and South Carolina. Candidates should be based within reasonable commuting distance of Solutionz, Inc.'s Charlotte office. Regular travel to customer job sites is required.

The Technician I, Integrated Critical Infrastructure (ICI), is responsible for supporting the installation, termination, testing, and documentation of structured cabling, network infrastructure, physical security, and integrated technology systems for Solutionz customers.

This role works closely with project managers, lead technicians, engineers, and customers to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Solutionz standards and industry best practices.

The Technician I assists with all phases of infrastructure deployment, including cable installation, equipment mounting, rack construction, security device installation, and system testing.

This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a project team while supporting customer sites throughout the region.

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, security devices, and supporting technology components in accordance with project documentation and industry standards.

• Assist with the installation, termination, labeling, testing, and certification of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.

• Install and assemble equipment racks, cable trays, ladder racks, cable management systems, patch panels, and related infrastructure components.

• Install network switches, power conditioning equipment, building access control devices, surveillance cameras, and associated hardware.

• Follow Solutionz documentation, project drawings, specifications, and installation standards.

• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, technicians, and customers to ensure project requirements and schedules are understood.

• Support the delivery, staging, inventory management, and organization of equipment and materials at customer sites.

• Utilize hand tools, punch tools, testing equipment, and power tools in a safe and professional manner.

• Assist with system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final punch-list completion activities.

• Learn and apply local low-voltage requirements, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and applicable BICSI standards.

• Read and interpret network infrastructure, structured cabling, security, and AV system drawings.

• Learn basic AV networking concepts and equipment mounting techniques.

• Support quality control efforts by ensuring installations meet company and industry standards.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, and time-tracking records.

• Keep office work spaces, company vehicles, tools, equipment, and job sites clean, safe, and organized.

• Travel to customer locations as required to support project objectives.

• Commit to ongoing professional development and advancement toward Technician II responsibilities.
